We are pleased and proud to announce that Labour Trans Equality has now officially been recognised as a “Friend of Labour”

Labour ‘Friends of’ Groups provide a forum for members with a common interest to represent communities, professions and policy areas. They play multi-faceted roles as campaigning groups, community networks, professional networks and supporter networks. They provide the Labour Party with a deep well of knowledge and create spaces for community activism.

Speaking jointly on behalf of Labour Trans Equality, Councillor Anwen Muston of Wolverhampton South East CLP who presented the application to the Labour Party said…

“This is great news. There are many trans people and allies in the Labour Party who will be greatly encouraged by this news. As a “Friend of Labour” LTE looks forward to being able to represent their views in the Labour Party even more strongly and effectively in future”

As a “Friend of Labour” Group we will work with other groups within the Party, including LGBT Labour, the National Policy Forum, the National and Regional Executives, CLPs and affiliated organisations to promote trans/non binary equality.
